Stupid Stickup Men Busted for Gun Dispute

BRONX- If they weren’t dumb they wouldn’t get caught is the popular police mantra. A duo of alleged robbers, who are suspected of holding 4 armed stickups, fit this motto when they were busted for waiving a gun around during a dispute.

Eagle-eyed cops from the 49th Precinct apparently observed the dispute with a gun. The officers in their patrol car followed the duo to their home and after holding police at bay for an hour and-a-half, the gunmen were taken into custody.

Officers reported the incident at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, as they followed the alleged baby-faced gunmen into 2911 Barnes Avenue in the Allerton section.

According to one police source, officers used building surveillance cameras to pinpoint what apartment the pair fled into.

After two teams of heavily armed members of the NYPD's Emergency Services Unit entered the 6-story building, the pair emerged in handcuffs.

One of the suspects cried out, "I was home sleeping, why are you arresting me?" The second young man remained silent as a resident of the community yelled back, "Don't say anything!"

The pair eerily fit the description of two suspects wanted for a string of armed robberies that took place along Barnes Avenue, back in October. At the time police released a surveillance photo and two composite sketches of the assailants.

Detectives working the pattern robbery reported they were looking for two men in their teens or early 20's, wanted for stick-up's on October 4, 16, 17 and 18.

At the time officials stated that the suspects would rob other teens or young men of cash and cellphones. No arrests had so far been made in the case.

Repeated requests for comment from the NYPD have not yet been returned.
