Bronx Muggers Choke Out Victim

By Dan Gesslein

NEW YORK- A pair of Bronx muggers choked, beat and kicked a man for his wallet in Belmont.

Cops released surveillance video of the vicious attack and of the crooks casually hanging out on a stoop after the attack.

The attack happened at around 5:30 am on May 26 in front of 2423 Cambreleng Avenue in Belmont.

The video shows one of the crooks run up behind a man and place him in a choke hold.

As he wrestled the 49-year-old to the ground his partner is seen  runing up and helps restrain the victim.

Then the muggers punched and kicked the man in the head as he lay on the ground.

The muggers removed the victim’s wallet and cell phone.

The pair had covered their faces by wearing hoodies. However, the criminal masterminds failed to see the surveillance camera when they sat down at a nearby stoop after the attack.

The video gets a clear picture of each of the suspect’s faces.

The first suspect is an African-American male between the ages of 18 and 25. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie. He was the one suspected of putting the victim in a choke hold.

The second suspect is a Hispanic male between the ages of 18 and 25. He had his hair in a pony tail. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the words “Italia” on it.
